Описание: ie erste Folge aus Paavo Järvis Mahler-Zyklus mit dem HR Sinfonieorchester stieß auf begeistertes Medienecho. Nun folgt der zweite Teil, erneut mit zwei bedeutenden Sinfonien im Doppelpack: Die dritte Sinfonie und die vierte bilden den Abschluss von Mahlers „Wunderhorn“-Phase.
Immer wieder ist auf die frappierenden Unterschiede zwischen beiden Werken hingewiesen worden: Ist Mahlers Dritte noch ähnlich wie die Zweite ein groß besetztes Werk mit Chören, Solisten, großem Orchester und einer Spielzeit von über 90 Minuten, so ist die Vierte gerade einmal halb so lang. Sie bleibt ein rätselhaftes, weitaus intimeres Werk mit vielen kammermusikalischen Momenten und einem Abschlusslied über die „himmlischen Freuden“, das so melancholisch und tiefgründig ist, dass man die Doppelbödigkeit dieser Musik nicht überhören kann.
Paavo Järvi hat nach eigenem Bekunden ein entspanntes Verhältnis zu Mahlers Werk: Er verzichtet auf psychologisches Ausdeuten der Musik, sucht den Sinn von Mahlers Sinfonien lieber in den Noten statt in der Biografie des geplagten Komponisten zu kramen. Das Ergebnis ist ein ungewohnt „klassischer“, leichter Mahler, von dem viel gesprochen werden wird.

Описание: In many ways Mahler’s Seventh and Eighth Symphonies are the most unusual works that the late Romantic composer ever wrote. The Seventh was the last in a series of middle-period pieces that were purely instrumental in character. Two movements headed “Nachtmusik“ (night music) and the remarkable writing for a guitar and a mandolin help to create a sequence of darkly Romantic visions. And even within Mahler’s markedly eclectic output, the Eighth Symphony enjoys the status of an exotic outsider thanks not only to its two-movement form combining an early medieval hymn and the final scene from Goethe’s Faust but also to the vast forces for which it is scored, earning it the title of “Symphony of a Thousand”.

Description: Gustav Mahler spent 1909 and 1910 working on his final two symphonies. The Ninth has gone down in history as the culmination of his symphonic output and a prophetic anticipation of musical modernism. But owing to his declining health, he had to stop work on the Tenth after a few months and was unable to resume it before his death. Only the first movement, included here, was orchestrated to a point where it can be performed without non-authorial additions. – The Mahler cycle by the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra under Paavo Järvi is appearing complete on DVD and Blu-ray on the C Major label and has already been internationally acclaimed as one of the most important Mahler projects of the new millennium.

我还是喜欢杨松斯的，倒不是从演绎上能区别好坏，只是我很喜欢杨松斯的神态。而且RCO的现场，是我觉得秩序最好的。观众修养很高，演出的时候几乎不会发出杂音。
