“Visited a dealer in Frankfurt yesterday who had the pre-production unit in a locked glass cabinet. He let me audition it for 10 minutes with my own DAP. Immediate take-aways:
1. Clamp force is way lower than HD 800S;
2. Bass actually extends flat to ~25 Hz without the 6 kHz spike of the 800S;
3. Pads are a new hybrid memory-foam / velour, very plush but seal well.
He told me the MSRP is locked at 2 799 and that the first shipments land mid-October.”
