Description: Director Annabel Arden does not flaunt a "new reading", but her stage images are full of depth and ambiguity. Set designer Vikki Mortimer created a shaky, lifeless, windswept atmosphere for "The Miserly Knight", in which the ears and eyes of nameless witnesses seem to be seen through openwork designs. What Jurowski does to the London Philharmonic Orchestra at Rachmaninoff's opera borders on artistic discovery. We are kept in continuous tension for an hour, we have a feeling that something terrible is about to happen to us personally. The unstoppable stream of Rachmaninoff's music seems to us a whirlwind, rushing through the circles of hell, a wild beast, riding on which our souls weave through the horrors. But Jurowski and Arden would not have been able to create their masterpiece without the protagonist. Sergei Leiferkus reaches a height in the interpretation of the image of the Baron that seems to surpass all his previous - and very considerable - achievements. Pushkin's word, reincarnated by Rachmaninoff, comes from Leiferkus as his own text. With quite decent performance of other roles, "The Miserly Knight" due to the stellar radiance of Leiferkus is perceived as a monooper.

Description : Triptych (Italian: Triptych; Il trittico is the name of an opera cycle consisting of three one-act operas - "The Cloak", "Sister Angelica" and "Gianni Schicchi" by composer Giacomo Puccini. The world premiere took place on December 14, 1918 at the Metropolitan Opera.
Around 1904, Puccini began planning to write several one-act operas, largely due to the success of Pietro Mascagni's opera Cavalleria rusticana. Initially, he intended to write each opera in such a way as to reflect in each of the parts a section of Dante's Divine Comedy. Ultimately, however, only Gianni Schicchi has anything to do with Dante's epic poem.
Today, it is quite common to see productions of only one or two of the three movements of Triptych, and sometimes one of them can be staged together with another one-act opera by other composers. This is The Royal Opera's first complete presentation of Puccini's Il trittico since 1965. Leading director Richard Jones staged his witty, darkly comic realization of Gianni Schicchi for The Royal Opera in 2007, and here he completes the trio. Antonio Pappano conducts an acclaimed cast including Eva-Maria Westbroek, Ermonela Jaho, Lucio Gallo, Elena Zilio and rising star Francesco Demuro in these three one-act works, which were broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and went to cinemas world-wide in February 2012.

Description: "Aria" is a bright and original musical film consisting of 10 film novels. Producer Don Boyd decided to celebrate the 300th anniversary of opera in an unusual way, inviting a dozen famous directors for the author's interpretation of arias from popular operas. The film is allowed to be shown to viewers over 16 years of age.
Plot
Constellation of directors of the first magnitude in a musical polyphonic tape consisting of 10 short fragments. The singer (John Hurt) recalls his best days and these hours and moments of fame, which appear before the audience in the form of small but capacious arias. In her debut work, Bridget Fonda appears in an aria from the opera Tristan and Isolde (directed by Frank Roddam) as a mistress who comes to Las Vegas, indulges in passionate love with her partner in a hotel room, and then ends her life with him. The motifs of Giuseppe Verdi's opera Un ballo in maschera will become for Nicholas Roeg the basis of his aria-insert about the life and murder of the Albanian king Zog (1931). Jean-Luc Godard, based on an aria from Jean Baptiste Lully's opera Armida, will show a sketch in the style of "nude" from the life of bodybuilding aces. The dead city of Bruges will come to life in the novel by Australian Bruce Birsford based on the aria from Erich Korngold's opera The Dead City. A paradoxical ending awaits the viewer in the fragment of the director Ken Russell Puccini "Turandot". English model Lindsay Drew imagines that her body is decorated with the most exquisite jewels. But, waking up from dreams, she finds herself in intensive care, where she got after a car accident.

Description: Recorded at the Puccini Festival, Torre del Lago, 2016. In Torre del Lago, the Giacomo Puccini Opera Festival is held annually. For every opera lover, a visit to Torre del Lago should be nothing more than a Mecca. There is no better place on earth than this small Tuscan town, where fans of Puccini can plunge into the atmosphere of the composer's music. This year, four operas were performed at the festival: "Longing", "Madama Butterfly", "La Bohème" and "Turandot". The district of Versilia is inextricably linked with the name of Puccini. In the city of Lucca he was born, in Torre del Lago he spent 30 years of his life, five kilometers from Torre del Lago in Viareggio was his last villa. The privacy, beauty, special atmosphere of the place so fascinated Giacomo Puccini that in 1891 he decided to settle here, bought the tower and turned it into a beautiful cozy house. At that time, there were 20 houses in the city, in which 120 inhabitants lived. Puccini's main operas were created here.
