“《赛密拉米德》是罗西尼作曲的二幕歌剧，改编自伏尔泰的悲剧《赛密拉米斯》，原剧则是依据传奇女王萨穆-拉玛特的传说所创作。该剧于1823年2月2日在威尼斯之费尼契剧院首演。

赛密拉米德是传说中的巴比伦皇后，弑夫恋子。除罗西尼外，这一题材还吸引许多作曲家用以写作歌剧，其中最著名的又波波拉、维瓦尔第、格鲁克、雷斯皮基等。

罗西尼《赛密拉米德》歌剧的序曲非常有活力，一直是音乐会的常演曲目。该剧是罗西尼所作的最后一部意大利歌剧。”

Created in 1819 for the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Hermione has a unique destiny: it is the only opera by Rossini that did not win success at the premiere and was no longer staged in any theater until it was dragged to the stage of the Rossini Festival in 1987. The composer himself predicted that his "Hermione" would be understood in a hundred years.
